Great work you guys are doing on the Drum. Wish I lived closer to help out, but I doubt this will happen. We were down in your area after one of your bad storms that left the Drum listing in the water--unable to go aboard. Someday we will be back. Keep up the "fantastic" work! Take care, Jim Farquhar, USS Trigger SS 564 '62-'65, Charleston, SC

Awesome stuff!! As an ex-"Pigboat Engineman" it gave me goosebumps to see what you all are doing. I served aboard USS Medregal SS 480, USS Segundo SS 398, and USS Harder SS 568.
Keeping our country's past (and the sacrifices made) alive for future generations to see is so important. Keep up the good work and God bless you for what you're doing! Hope to visit in the future and shake your hands! Ed Hinman (ex) EN3SS

Not a Drum sailor but rode the Cusk SS-348 Cusk and Sargo SSN-583. A great job all have done restoring her and the web site is one of the best. You've got a Clean Sweep mates. Green Board.

Fortunate to have the Drum & Alabama in Mobile. My Queenfish is on the bottom off Barber's Point since '63.

Robert Fedor on your crew list was also a Q/F sailor prior to my 45/47 era.

Great site.

I want to say a big THANKS to Tom for showing me around the boat yesterday. I've been through Drum and a few others around the country, but Tom took the time to show me around compartments I've always wanted to see but couldn't. The work he and Lesley have done on Drum is just fantastic. It is so great to have such an authentic historic monument and testament to our USN heroes of WWII right here in AL. Tom and Lesley dedicate so much work and time to this fine effort, we all owe them our gratitude.

BRAVO/ZULU to Tom and Lesley. for your efforts to restore the DRUM. As a retired US NAVY Chief Hull Tech. I am amased at the work you have done. What you have accomplished is MAJOR SHIPYARD work. I was at the reunion in 2009. I saw then what you accomplished and was very impressed. I know from experience what equiptment is needed to do the work you do. You have done it WITHOUT that equiptment. AMAZING,JUST AMAZING. I have now taken over the DRUM CREW reunions and will see you two next june. I am the son of Phil Williamson (aka. WILLY). Again ,I can't express my thanks and gratitude enough for the work you do. B/Z FAIR WINDS AND FOLLOWING SEAS. ROBERT D. WILLIAMSON

I have the wash basin from the CPO guarters of the USS Drum. How I came about it is this:I was station at Deep Sea Divers School,in the YDT 5, Navy Yard Washington DC from 64/67. The Drum was use for reserve training.I understand thay made the Chief quaters into office space.A shipmate of mine (a submariner)also at DSDS Said thay were thowing the basin away and thought I could use it on the YDT. I gave to my father in law(ww2 Navy). Thought he could use it in his moutain cabin.I retired in 78.Move to Chambersburg.A few years ago I got to thinking about that basin. My father in law had pass away I ask my brothers in law and thay didn't know.So I forgot about it.On 6/20 I was at one of my brothers in law and saw the basin he did not know what it was. Thougt it was a bowl. He gave it to me.On the back it says Drum 228 CPO I would be glad to return it to The Drum? Garland Summerall (ENCRET)(DV)
